Full-Service Small Animal Procedures and Services

Wellness Exams, Annual Vaccinations and Parasite Control

An annual wellness exam for your pet is an excellent time to review your companion's overall health (weight, body condition, teeth, eyes and ears). Please tell us about any concerns or questions you may have. We will also review and update your pet's vaccination record. Parasite control is important so we encourage annual heartworm testing for dogs and annual fecal tests or deworming. Blood analysis or urinalysis may be recommended for early diagnosis of diseases like diabetes, anemia, thyroid and kidney disease. Through prevention or early and timely intervention, we can add to the quality and longevity of your pet's life.

We stock many pet products including flea and tick control, heartworm preventative, Hill’s and Royal Canin pet food. For your added convenience we offer an online store.

Microchipping

To help ensure that you don’t ever lose track of your furry companion get your dog or cat microchipped. A veterinarian injects a microchip for pets, about the size of a grain of rice, beneath the surface of your pet’s skin between the shoulder blades. The process is similar to an injection or vaccination and takes only a few seconds. No anesthetic is required. Following registration you and your pet’s information is stored in a national pet recovery database. If your pet is lost, it can be taken to an animal shelter or veterinarian where it will be scanned for a microchip’s unique ID number. The microchip number will be used to identify the pet, retrieve your contact information and reunite you with your pet!

Preventive Pet Health

We recommend an annual wellness exam for your pet. This is an excellent time to review your companion's overall health (weight, body condition, teeth, eyes and ears).

Boarding

We currently offer indoor kennel accommodations for dogs and cats at RVAC and HAC. All dogs must be current on rabies, distemper and bordetella (kennel cough) vaccinations. All cats must be current on rabies and distemper vaccinations. Please call 1-855-855-7822 for boarding reservations.

In-House Blood Analysis

Our laboratory allows us to perform many tests in our office, supplying us with quick results and faster treatment for your pets. Pre-surgical blood chemistry panels are highly encouraged for any dog or cat over seven years old to check for any underlying condition (kidney or liver disorders, abnormal protein or glucose levels) that could increase the risks associated with anesthesia. These results also allow us to diagnose and treat conditions that would otherwise go undetected until visible, possibly irreversible symptoms arise.

Allergy Testing

We work with Spectrum Labs and can test for any allergy with a simple blood test. When the source is identified we can provide relief and control the allergy with medications, prescription foods or bathing treatments.

Nutritional Counseling

We recommend and sell Hill's Science Diet dog and cat foods. Hill's offers a variety of nutritionally balanced products for the healthy pet and prescription foods for pets with special diet requirements.

Cold Laser Therapy

Laser Therapy is an effective, proven, pain free treatment option for our clients who want to ease their pet’s pain and inflammation. Laser Therapy is the use of specific wavelengths of light to treat painful and debilitating conditions. Light energy enters the damaged cells and stimulates inter-cellular activity. This reduces pain in the area and speeds recovery of the damaged cells. Some conditions treated with Laser Therapy include arthritis, tendonitis, inflamed ears, joint pain, and post-op and wound healing.

Ultrasound

Ultrasound technology is extremely useful for certain diagnostic and reproductive tests. Ultrasound is a non-invasive procedure that can be done with very little or no discomfort to your pet.

Portable Digital X-Ray

We take x-rays on digital plates that are converted to a digital image on computer. This technology gives us outstanding images at an affordable price for animals large and small.

Isoflurane Gas Anesthesia

Gas anesthesia is very safe to use and is used on all our surgery patients with few side effects. Pre-anesthetic blood testing is available for all pets and can be done the morning of your scheduled surgical procedure.

Spays/Neuters

Spaying and neutering should be done to all pets that will not be used for breeding purposes. We can do these procedures as early as four months of age (or earlier if warranted). Spaying and neutering your pet greatly decreases health problems that they may encounter later in life, such as various cancers and infections, and can also decrease many undesirable behaviors as well.

Dental Cleaning

Most dogs and cats will need a dental cleaning at some point in their life, and many will need it on a yearly basis. That dog or cat breath you have been complaining about may be from tooth decay and tartar buildup and can lead to serious health problems. We perform dental cleaning on animals of all ages under gas anesthesia, extracting teeth when necessary.

General Soft Tissue Surgery

We perform many surgeries in our clinics. If we do not feel comfortable with a certain procedure, we will provide you with an appropriate referral to a specialist for further treatment.

Orthopedic Surgery

We have the capability to surgically repair many fractures and other orthopedic conditions. If a condition or fracture is too severe, we will provide you with an appropriate referral to a specialist for further treatment.

Cremation

Our knowledgeable and compassionate staff can assist you with difficult end of life decisions. We offer general or private cremation for your loved one.
